Ceramiq Ceramics School

The regulations apply to class participants, persons using the firing service, staff and all persons staying in the studio.

I. General organizational principles

  1. The workplace must be kept clean. Workplaces must be left in the same condition as found.
  2. Tools and other used items should be cleaned and put away. The table should be wiped down with a cloth.
  3. Before washing tools and equipment, they should be pre-cleaned of clay.
  4. Used clay pieces should be placed in the marked container.
  5. Beginning work should be stored on your shelf. If a shelf has not been assigned, ask staff about storing your work.
  6. Works left on workbenches at the end of class may be removed and sent to the clay recycling plant.
  7. Works and items left in the studio space outside the designated shelf, after prior request to collect them within 14 days, may be disposed of or donated to charity.
  8. If the pass has expired, participants must remove their items from the shelf within 14 days. After this time, the items may be disposed of or donated to charity.
  9. Your own tools and materials should be reported to the studio staff and permanently marked.
  10. It is forbidden to take tools, materials and equipment from the laboratory.
  11. When planning your work, leave time to tidy up your workspace.

II. Precautionary Principles

  1. Please be careful with other people's work and do not touch it without the express permission of the author.
  2. When collecting works after firing, please be careful not to damage other people's works.
  3. Tools, instruments and materials must be used in accordance with their intended purpose.
  4. Electrical equipment may only be operated with the consent of staff.
  5. Financial liability for damage caused by a breach of the precautionary principles rests with the perpetrator or his legal guardian.

III. Firing the works

  1. Works to be fired must be permanently marked and properly cleaned to prevent contamination of the shelves. Otherwise, the participant may be charged for shelf cleaning or kiln repair.
  2. Staff has the right to refuse to accept work for firing if it is not properly prepared or could cause damage to other works.
  3. The studio is not responsible for any natural technological risks associated with the firing process, including cracks, deformations or color changes resulting from the properties of the materials.
  4. The studio's liability for damage resulting from improperly conducted firing is limited to typical and foreseeable losses, not exceeding the market value of the materials used to perform the work.
  5. Each work should be weighed by a studio employee before being placed on the firing shelf. This does not apply to work created during workshops or as part of school classes.
  6. Works created during the workshops are the property of the participants and can be collected after drying and firing, usually after about two weeks.
  7. Fired works must be collected within 30 days of the firing date. After this time, the works may be disposed of or donated to charity, after prior notification to the participant (if contact information has been provided).
  8. Small-format works glazed on both sides are weighed together with the stand, which must be delivered with the works.
  9. Payment for the firing must be made in advance according to the current price list available in the studio and on our website.
