Product description
NANO Square Tungsten Carbide Trimming Tool
- blade material: tungsten carbide;
- blade size: 8 mm;
- handle length: approximately 150 mm;
The tool is lightweight and easy to use. The handle is slightly flattened to prevent it from rolling off the table and falling.
DURABILITY AND SHARPNESS
Tungsten carbide tools last exceptionally long due to the extreme hardness of the material. These tools are very sharp and maintain their sharpness for a longer period.
Of course, they can be sharpened from time to time with a diamond file – we recommend 600 grit. However, in most cases, sharpening will not be necessary for many months or even years.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Please handle the blades carefully. Although they are extremely hard, they can break if dropped. Always store them in safe conditions that prevent accidental drops.
USAGE TIPS
Because the blade is very sharp, vibration may occur during use. This happens when the sharp edge digs deep into the clay, and your hand is unable to stabilize the tool, causing vibrations.
To minimize vibration:
- Use both hands to stabilize the tool.
- Trim carefully so that the shavings are no thicker than 2 mm and maintain an even thickness. Do it with confidence.
- Make sure the clay is not too dry.
When trimming, hold the tool firmly and ensure the clay is adequately moist. After getting familiar with the tool, you can find the conditions that best suit your material or trimming style.
COMPARISON WITH CAPTAIN HOOK TRIMMING TOOLS
Note: These tools differ from our Captain Hook trimming tools.
Tungsten carbide tools are designed for more advanced users. They are much more durable but also more brittle.
Captain Hook blades are handmade, forged, and made from hardened stainless steel. They are more resistant to drops because steel is not as brittle as tungsten carbide, but their lifespan is shorter.
Biroskop offers high-quality Polish ceramic tools!
